seriously, there is a fusible link on the wires coming from the starter solenoid on the Pass. side fender should be a red rectangular looking thinger

Ryan,
Take a "Test Light" to the fuse contacts and turn on the lights. If the "Test Light" lights, then you have power there and the switch is good, and your problem is the bulbs in the dash or wire to them from the fuse.
If you don't have power there, then the problem is in the switch or the wire from the switch to the fuse box.
FYI
The "Power" for the dash lights comes from the light switch, then goes to the fuse, and then to the dash lights.

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...
