well its not a radio from a slick. thats for sure i also have one of those sitting here. it is a 67 looking radio but it might have came out of something else and just happen to fit in the bezel. its not a fomoco radio so that kind of rules out that it was a stock radio. i like the speaker being on top of it though.

Guys, it's definitely a radio from a '67 bumpside. However, it's not a FACTORY radio. You'll occasionally run across Motorolas which have a matching faceplate. I've got one from a '68 that I parted out too. I'm not exactly sure where these would come from, but they do come with a matching Ford-type bezel, so it's a directly bolt-in. However, this bezel will not work with the factory AM radio, or vice-versa.

Well I'll be...the Big Kahuna himself chimed in on this one. Thanks for setting me straight, Kieth.
The one you're holding looks really short. Did it have an integrated speaker or tie into the dash speaker?
Do you know if there is a special bracket needed to properly install the 67 radio?
Steve

If we're talking the factory radios, and not the Motorola...I couldn't tell you for sure if there's a difference between the '67 and the '68-later brackets. (You're talking about the support bracket from the back of the radio down to the dash lip, right?) Since the '67 radio was smaller, I'd have to think that there would be a slight difference in length of that bracket..

Could that be some sort of dealer option possibly (not sure how or why you would "upgrade" an AM radio
) or more likely, an old aftermarket replacement, perhaps?
I glanced through most of the factory lit after posting the first time in this thread, and didn't see anything regarding optional radios (only that a radio WAS an option)

That bracket i showed on the back of that radio is the 67 only radio mount bracket for the orginal 67 radio. i dont know what kind of bracket your radio used. maybe the same bracket.airman_x wrote:Well I'll be...the Big Kahuna himself chimed in on this one. Thanks for setting me straight, Kieth.
