on the parts truck i have a guy used vinyl dryer dust to replace his original duct to the dash. he just hose clamped it on to the box. i havent seen how he put it on the dash yet.

it was here. i read about it but im going with the vacuum idea.

my dad and i went vacuum parts shopping, and the vacuum store was closed, and wallyworld didnt have what i was looking for.
but the good news is, we drove around and found 3 bump

one guy had two bumps, which i carded. also saw a really nice 69 ranger that looks exactly like mugwumps

If you really want an easy to convert defroster duct for that opening. Check on the sizes and dimensions for the First Generation F-series trucks defroster ducts.
I remember that they are elongated and thin. They also have a tube connection on the bottom that would make it easier to hook up your vacuum cleaner hose.
Just something to think about.

Lowes and Home Depot have a whole wall full of hoses. I think it's a great ideal beefing up the defroster. They suck like they are and I have great heat in my bump.
I want to go a step farther and add a vent to blow on the side windows. They need it bad also.
On your other idea, air-horns, I want some train horns on mine.
There is a video of a guy tooling around town with a set of train air horns blowing them at un suspecting people. It was funny but in Charlotte it would get you shot. FAST.
There's a website selling them but they start at around $800 and go up past $3000. I don't want any that bad.
I'll have to settle with the electric ol truck horns I have and put them back on

ill go to lowes and check that one out.

i might have to make my own though, since clearence isnt looking so good. but its really hard to tell, since there is nothing in the 69 to see if it will clear stuff, and you cant see the dash in the 71 because all the wiring and the cluster.
ill think of something...

so i have found that clearence isnt an issue on either side. i should be able to get a vent in there and easily route the vaccuum hose through to the heater.

also the truck is going down to the welding shop either tomorrow or the day after, so i need to get a good plan of the hole size and stuff.

but i was thinking, how much would it even be better to do this idea, when instead i fab a nice mount to mount a CPU (computer) fan to the bottom of the vent, and use vacuum hose

wouldnt that be just as good? because i cant find a way to have the heat spread out, and not just blown straight out the 1 ft. wide vent out the middle.

before i started cutting holes i would get the duct part first and then cut the hole to size of the duct.

well i did use some old really wide blue painters tape and drew my oval thing on there. got a good idea of what it would look like
