I have found out through trial and error that my '69 gas pedal is different than a '68,. Turns out that a 68 uses a screw of sorts to hold the gas pedal on, while my 69 has a pressed in pin. I have to replace the gas pedal, and bought a new one that I was told would fit, but wont without the screw setup.
I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and what you did to fix it. I can go to the junkyard and get one, but I already spent the time and effort to strip and powdercoat the original. I considered trying to drill and tap the hole to fit the screw which I can buy.
Different gas pedal pins?

re: Different gas pedal pins?
I've parted out a lot of bumpsides, and every one used a screw, never a pressed-in pin. I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of yours.

i would break off the pdeal pad. and use the new pedal pad you bought. but you will need the specail screw to use the new screw on type of pedal pad. i have never seen a bump side pedal with a rivet in it. but i have seen only one dentside pedal with the rivet you talk about. it came off of a 73 F250 explorer

re: Different gas pedal pins?
I was at the shop today, and discovered that dentside gas pedal assemblies DO have the press-in pin. The assembly is a direct replacement for the bumpside, so apparently on your truck it was replaced by a previous owner.
