Yea, it's a 3 on the tree with the 1969 Explorer option. I'm beginning to think that it was factory. My dad bought the truck in 70 so I doubt if it was changed.

And so the saga continues....Ok how about this?...Maybe the factory floormatted trucks with the color-keyed interiors had the lightning bolt...In other words,if yours had a green or red or tan or blue dashpad, you got the matching color-keyed floormat with the lightning bolt...If your dash was black, like on yellow or white or hugger blue trucks and many two-tones,then you got a plain black floormat w/o the 'bolt...Door panel colors and dashpad colors weren't always the same...Hey,...it's only a theory...

Blows my theory all to hell....Dear Mr. Ford....So just exactly what was your floormat format?....Inquiring minds want to know....

Maybe a difference of build plants? Different suppliers of mats? Who knows. I work in the parts dept. of a Chevy dealership (sorry) and we see design changes all the time.

Everybody, when you chime in with your floormat details please also state what trim level your truck is (base model, Sport Custom, XLT, etc.) and the interior color.

Thanks!

Here's mine, '70 Sport Custom with green interior, green dash pad, green speckled rubber floor mat, NO lightning bolt. By the way I'd sure love to find an original or replacment green floor mat.

I thought I had some better pictures, but I can't find the darned things. Anyway, this'll at least give you a visual of what they look like. Both of these are 1972 Custom models. The top one is an F100 (they added the underdash A/C with the Ranger logo) and the bottom one is an F250.

Interesting Ranger logo, is that stuck on a piece of wood jamed in there?

When we get this floormat nailed, let's talk about the odd-colored steering columns/wheels that never match anything. :D

WOW...That green truck was my old truck!!!I bought it in Phoenix with 32,000 original miles, then sold it to my brother, who later sold it on eBay,where I'm sure Keith got the pic from...The "Ranger" logo was either the brand or model of the aftermarket a/c unit....There were scads of aftermarket a/c outfits in the southwest in those days...And I apologize,...I actually made a mistake  ,the floormat was all black..

wow....what are the odds? Yep, that's an E-bay photo. I don't save every one I see, but I saved the pics from this truck because of the floormat and the underdash A/C.
