wiper motor removal

Post by 1971ford »

the last thing in the truck...
and it wont come out :(
the drivers side arm with the 3 in. arm that goes to the wiper wont come out because there doesnt seem to be any angle to get any room to pull the 3in. long thing through the cowl hole. i keep thinking its impossible, but then how did Ford get it in there :?

anyone know any tricks?

I had to work mine out pulling in a downward motion. It is very tight and scracthed my hands up pretty good.I felt like I was almost to the point of bending it But it came and works great after i got it back in.
I had to take both of mine out to change the gaskets.

You might also have to turn the wiper on then off when the rotating arm is in just the right spot.

i got it off easy, thanks. but of course that was the last thing in my cab before the cab was 100% stripped. so all i had to do was pull it down like itsmy7f100 said.

I unclipped mine too so I could jockey around. I used chimney elastomeric flashing "goo" on mine instead of a gasket to seal the leaks. Good luck, Banjo.
