Factory Electrical Harness Wrap?

Post by benm78 »

Did the factory use electrical tape for harness sheathing in the engine compartment or did someone re-wrap the wiring in our 68 F100 Ranger?

No, Ford didn't use electrical tape to wrap it's wire harness's.
They used a black plastic "tape" that had no adhesive...

I have seen the electrical tape used on the harnesses and you can still buy it. I just cannot find the Internet site now - this is a common problem I have as I get older. The tape is no tack tape and I think it was made by 3M.
