a/c on a 69

Post by jschreiner »

Hey all, a/c stuff. I am trying to put a/c on my 69 390. How do you run the belt with a after market compesser? Is there a 3 grove water pump pulley? I have a after market bracket that bolts to the old bracket that moves to tighten the belt. Next, I have 2 power steering brackets, the one on the 390 has 3 nuts on top and a nut to tighten, the other one has a slot to tighten the belt. The factory a/c mount I have hits on one of the 3 nuts. Do I have the wrong a/c mount, or the wrong power steering bracket? Please help I am hot. I live in the south. Jay

the a/c doesnt run on the water pump. if i remember. the slotted ps bracket is the one you want to use. the a/c use two idler pulleys instead of the water pump pulley i think.
