69 ranger door panels

Post by 1971ford »

so i though that the original door panels for my 69 f100 ranger were suppose to be a hard vinyl with a light woodgrain through the middle,
but my boss at work (also PO of my truck) gave me the "original" door panels today. they are the same color as the truck originally, and they have a very nice finish like a factory would do. he took them off the truck a long time ago. there still in really nice condition. there plain steel painted ones.

should my truck have the woodgrain ones, or these plain steel ones?

I think it depended on the package you got with the truck. I had a F-350 flat bed for awhile, it had just plain steel panels...

was it a ranger? only rangers had the woodgrain through the middle, 69 had lighter woodgrain (makes it harder to find the correct stuff).

I am not for sure... It was a flat bed work truck with no xtra options... I used it for a few parts, but it was pretty rotted out... But I do know it just had metal door panels....

post a pic of your steel panles. and try to show all the holes around them in one pic. no close ups are needed.

then your steel planels mihgt have had the woodgrain lower part on top of the steel panels. the steel panels also came with chrome trim rings. was there two sets of holes going around the outer and inner edge? if so then you had outer trim rings and the vinyl and woodgrain panels. if there was only one set of holes on the outer edge it was only chrome rings and plastic inserts. if the holes were on the inner edge then it only had the vinyl and woodgrain panels.
