Color questions/opinions
I am painting the exterior two tone red and white. I was wondering what you guys thought of a red/black/and little bit of interior. I just don't want a lot of white on the inside of the truck

re: Color questions/opinions
I gave my daughter the 1989 Mustang GT Convertible I owned for the last 8 years. The factory interior color is red, black and white. The top section of the dash and door panels is black. The middle sections of the door panels, the seats and the rear quarter panel trim is white. The arm rest sections and lower ends of the door panels and the carpet are red. I think the tri-color combination in this car looks nice.
My brother bought a MacAsphalt 1978 pickup from someone he knew that was red and black two-tone exterior. It too looks real nice.
Color is a matter of taste. I don't see why it wouldn't look nice, but you have to be happy with it. If others snub their noses at it after it's done it really wouldn't matter to me as long as I liked it (if it was my truck).
Take a few digital pictures of the interior as it is in the truck. Print them out on plain white paper and try to carefully white-out sections of the picture with some liquid paper (wite-out) and color the interior sections with Sharpie markers in the colors that you are thinking of making the interior. That could give you an idea of how it would look before you invest the time and money into it.

re: Color questions/opinions
I would try to picture in my head what combinations look good. I try to get one color to poke out another. like the red would show the white and the black would show the red & white kind of thing. You might not think this is a good comparision but im just throughing stuff out.

re: Color questions/opinions
Here's
from me...
Black interior with a little bit of red accent could look good...
Again, it's a matter of taste, how much and the shade...
black seats with red inserts... black door panels with a splash of red could look really sweet... a little bit of red goes a long way...
You could even get real classy and do a wee bit of red/white pin stripeing which would just pop against black... again not too much...

re: Color questions/opinions
How about all over red with a black dash pad & armrests, black carpet, and a black steering column??? Red or black seat? I think I'd paint the door panels red along with the majority. I wouldn't want too much black as it might look like a checkerboard! Not sure on the headliner and visors...white? Interior color combo decisions are tough! Hmmmm. ![Maybe...I wonder :maybe:](./images/smilies/icon_maybe.gif)

re: Color questions/opinions
Click on the link below and then click on benm78's link. This looks pretty close to what I was thinking from what you can see and now I'm thinking red headliner and visors too with polished headliner trim. No white at all. I think almost all red looks real good with just small amounts of black; dash pad and maybe carpet and seat inserts? I like the red column and wheel with the Ranger trim on the wheel.

re: Color questions/opinions
I've decided on this color scheme for the F-250 with a white interior, black dashpad and door panels, and a charcoal bench seat. Reason being is that I've had better luck finding black interior components than any other color.

I know you mentioned you didn't really want a whole lot of white in the interior. Just my![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/icon_2cents.gif)

re: Color questions/opinions
I am doing just the opposite with my exterior. Where you have red I am doing white and where you have white I am doing red. I am thinking about doing white on the inside (doors and dash) with black door panels, red arm rest and a black seat. Thinking about doing the column red but not sure yet

I'm from Logandale, NV (Southern Nevada) and with those wicked summers of 120 degrees, black interiors can be a killer. Just something to consider. ![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/icon_2cents.gif)

Yeah I was wondering about that too. Here in the part of Cali that I'm in gets around 110 in the summer.mrtleavitt wrote:I'm from Logandale, NV (Southern Nevada) and with those wicked summers of 120 degrees, black interiors can be a killer. Just something to consider.
I'm working on my interior too. My truck is red with white trim/grill pieces, white wheels, so I have been trying to figure out interior colors too. I thought about sticking with red and white inside as well, but then I worry about the white getting dirty, and I'm not sure how black would look inside with the red and white outside
