new steering wheel
im thinking i may go ahead and put this grant wheel in looks nice enough and i saw a truck in the galleries with it and it looked good, it's 13.5 with a 3" dish and foam grip dont really want a OEM sport one like in the 79 (three spoke with holes) even though i like it.

yeah i hear ya, what i really need to do is get the wheel out of my chest/gut so i may have to get the wheel locally and see how it fits. cause i can scratch my chest without removing my forearm from the wheel

I have to do a couple things, to mine, like that... To make it a more comfortable ride. I am only 5'11, and it kills my leg where the gas pedal sits. So I am going to move it up some, but don't know exactly how yet...

re: new steering wheel
Summit Racing has some nice horn buttons for the Grant wheels. I was thinking about getting this one:

I used my Grant Signature wood steering wheel in my 67 with no power steering and it wasn't that bad. The thing about a wood wheel is that it won't get hot in the summer sun and it won't get cold in the wintertime. It is the most comfortable wheel I have ever used.kilog55 wrote:originally i wanted a walnut grip three spoke but figure i would wear the finish off quick as i have armstong steeringneed a different horn button though, unless i can get soemone to make me a POW/MIA sticker for it that will last as that is gonna be the theme of my truck.

I had one from a Granada on the Ranchero and I didn't like it because it had a lot more dish and put the wheel really close to me. I'd like to get a woody as well, just couldn't talk myself into one yet.

yeah mine is in my chest as it is maybe ill lean towars the split 3 spoke as opposed to the drilled 3 spoke in a wood grip. just have to decide on the diameter maybe a 14.5 or a 13.5
