Didn't work then, did it ?
.... Nooo, they wear out over time and need tweaked back in if they can... They way they work is they send out a pulse instead of a constant voltage... The way they make this pulse is by using a bi-metal strip in them that heats up and cools down to make a contact. As it heats up it will bend away from making a contact (connection) and then it will cool down and bend back to make contact again... that adjustment changes the tension on the bi-metal strip as to how hot it has to get to bend away from the contact...
So as they get used and old the tension (strength) of the bi-metal strip weakens...
Hope that wasn't to confusing it is a little hard to explain but thought I would try.
FYI this is also how a flasher for the signals works as well...
like Steve said... That other round thing with the 2 prongs above it is the flasher for the turn signals.

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...
wondering now Steve, if the bloomin' orange markers are something a previous owner mounted in to get the turns working?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I don't think so ? There is a requirement in Australia for vehicles to have Brake, Parking and Reverse lights (all served by the standard F100 tail lights - note our small insert lens in the tail light is white for reverse lights, where yours are amber/orange/yellow for turning lights), which meant a seperate turning light is needed and was installed by the factory.
Intersting though, I don't have hazzards !!!
