While replacing the alternator and regulator on my 72 Crew this weekend, I noticed that the alternator harness is pretty buggered up.
Does anyone make a replacement?
Perhaps I can buy one that is designed for a Mustang? I figure they should be pretty similar.
Thanks.
Tim

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I believe the alternator harness connectors on the early Mustang is a 3-prong flat plug and I believe my '68 Bump is a 4 prong square plug. I'm not sure what the '69 and '70 Mustangs have but I would do a good stare-and-compare to be sure that if the harnesses look the same also be sure the wire sizes are also a match from the car to the truck as well as color for color. I'd hate to see you plug a harness in that feeds alternator current into your wiring harness in the wrong place.
The '66 - '68 Mustang has one large and two small wires in the alternator feed. I have seen those wires in different locations in the alternator feeds of different 60s vehicles. I wound up forking out the ca$h at NPD here in Ocala to get an alternator harness for one of my cars because I couldn't find a match in the wrecking yards.
