i think and im not sure but the dentsides had them in the cardboard of the glove box. they were munted so that they were in a hole in the top of the glove box so it didnt burn the glove box liner when it was on. the switch for it was mounted in the drivers side top of the door flange. i have thought about this myself but i may not do it because i dont think if would be that easy to mount the switch.

The cut-out in the glove compartment is an oblong hole.
The light is also oblong which mounts above the glove compartment itself.
The switch is closed when the door to the glove compartment opens. Mine from the 79' is in storage somewhere....future bump project for sure. :

Yeah, I got the light switch and stuff to mount it...
along with a few other things...
A cigar lighter lamp, a glove box door cable, and a couple of the door bumpers buttons (whatever the heck ya call them).
Got them all for $5.00... way cool I thought.
