Difference between 67 and 69 wiring harnesses?

The previous owner of my 67 hacked up a lot of the wiring harness. It is an F250 with full instrumentation. I am looking at the harness out of a 69 CS. What are teh differences? Not just the under dash section but throught the whole thing.
In the engine compartment he hacked up the harness running to the alternator. He said the lights were dim so he put a bigger one in with integrated voltage regulator.
When I was under the truck he hacked up the harness running to the taillights for some reason. I am not sure why he did this. Under teh dash is cut up a bit whwen he added a newer radio.
It seems when he made any modifications he just hacked and slashed until he got something to work. In fact when I bought the truck it kept dying and I finally figured out the altenator was wired wrong. I am sorry I do not have any pics to post but if anyone is interest I can post some in a couple of weeks to show his work.

I have a 67 cab on my 69 I believe the main differences is the wiring to the dash,the instrument panels are different they wont interchange without rewiring

there are some differences. the alt wiring will need to be from a truck with the full instrumetation. under the dash the heater control wires are one year only the switch wires are one year only and some other things that i forget right now. i did swap an entire 69 harness into my 67 but i used the 69 ignition switch and i have no heater hot wire. so no heat in the truck. i did get the 67 harness from another member but i havent had time to put it in yet. other things to consider is if the donor harness is auto or manual and the instrumentation question. i think all the plugs are the same for almost everything except the ignition switch

the wiper switch is different? how is it different? mine just plugged right into the 69 harness. i just unplugged it from the 67 harness and plugged the 69 harness into it. i am curious maybe someone did something wierd to my original 67 harness.

I put a '71 harness into a '67 a few years ago. Had to use the '71 cluster, emergency flasher switch, brake light and ign switches and front harnesses but the original tail light harness plugged right in. What stands clear is not having trouble with the heater switch as the constant through the years is one brown wire from the harness hooking it up. It surprised me at the time. There was wire color and plug shape differences at the column hookup. I have a couple of decent spare '67 (full gauge) harnesses and will be comparing them shortly with a '68 idiot light harness to see just what the differences are. As far as standard vs auto trans, there are jumper wires installed at either the plug in the engine compartment or the plug by the column inside for proper operation of the b/u lights depending on which transmission was installed.

mk i might be wanting a 67 full gauge harness. i am unsure right now. but i would only need the cab harness if i need one. i havent tried to install the one i just got so it may be a few weeks before i can get to it. work is crazy again.

how bout a 67 harness in a 72 probly a pain in the rump

Only as a last resort could I see that. New into old is better with advantages like protection in the alternator circuit (fuse in 68/9, fusible link 70up), park lights on with headlights, simpler brake switch, dome harness built in, etc.

yeah i have a 67 with everything cept the rear if anyone needs one
