Door panel clips

Post by Teacherman »

I am reassembling a rear door after getting the window regulator fixed (all four windows work for the first time in about a dozen years!! Yeeeeaaaa!!!! :D ) Anyway, the door panel was missing four or five clips. I bought some from DC. The originals have some type of foam or something that sits between the door and the panel once it's attached. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use? I was thinking that spray foam insulation or packing peanuts or maybe a large rubber grommet.

I've got a bag of 50 clips. I'm just wondering what I could use as a replacement for the foam or whatever Ford put on those clips. I assume it was put there to reduce noise or rubbing or something.
