Intermittent wiper question

Post by junkyardjeff »

I bought a 77 to use while my 66 F250 is apart for mechanical upgrades and to paint it,I found that the 77 has the intermittent wipers and I need some info on them. Is it a different motor along with the switch or does the switch do everything, since the 77 drives so good it might not get cut up and I would like to remove the intermittent wipers and convert it to the regular two spped as my 66 will be getting the intermittent wipers. There is a tutorial here:

I believe the motor is the same and the switch takes care of it all.

yup you'll need the box from under the dash on the 77 that goes between the motor and switch. and on the 66-72 the wire for the washer fluid motor has to be moved.

I used a 77 setup in my 72. Modify the switch stub length, plug everything up, and mount the box was all I had to do. The wiring matched perfectly. I believe you only have to move wires on 80 + setups. However, I don't know if the wiring on the 66 is the same as the 67-72 trucks. The motor should work fine.

The 66 has a different switch. It's easy to convert the newer switches to it with a little soldiering. That's assuming your 66 has 2 speed wiper motor. It also takes a different knob, easy to change though!
