I'm working on the wiring and as I said earlier these trucks do have their short comings in the electrical system. I reworked the alternator harness from a dent to replace the trashed original. Dents used a fusible link to protect the charging circuit which I incorporated into the system. I also added another fusible link into the cab feed circuit. The fusible link for the alternator is hidden by the harness but the one I added is the short yellow wire that is sticking out of the harness.

In this pic you can see the wiring for the senders and ignition. I used the original engine harness for the gauges along with a Duraspark harness from an early 80's F350. Although it's hidden behind the carb I also added a power wire for the electric choke. The harness is purposely routed below the master cylinder to account for a future power brake booster. All that's left to finish the engine wiring is to add feed wires for the choke and ignition module. The original resistance wire for the coil has been dead headed and it's feed will be used to power the Duraspark coil.

It's starting to look like a truck again.
