Hey Guys,
The truck is having starting issues once it's been warmed up for a while. For example, I could be running around town doing errands, then make a quick stop at the market (10 minutes or less). When I go to start the truck, it really struggles to turn over. Wake up the next morning after it sat in the garage all nite and it fires right up. I'm thinking the starter is headed for a dirt nap and a replacement will solve it, but is there anything else that might be causing the problem? Thanks!

Hey BiggDogg,
You probably hit the nail right on the head...
Other things you might check...
Cables... they get corroded inside the insulation and won't look bad on the outside... but can appear sorta bumpy especially where the connector is.
Connections... make sure you have a real good clean connection...
Especially the ground that goes to block.
A weak battery can cause it as well...
I think about 90% of the time it is the starter itself...
They will crank pretty good when cold because the windings inside are tight, as it gets warm, they expand and require more power to crank, causing them to crank slower.

Re: Difficulty starting when warm
Thanks guys I'm gonna try a few things this weekend. Battery is about 6 months old, so hopefully thats not it. Dirty cables/connections could be a possibility, so I'll clean those up and replace the starter and see what happens.

Re: Difficulty starting when warm
Thanks guys. Battery was really low, so checked that first. The positive cable could be lifted off with one finger, so needless to say it was incredibly loose, no to mention it had some corrosion at the connection too. Cleaned that up, charged the battery, tightened everything. Timing was also off slightly, fixed that. Points looked good. Seems like success so far
