ignition switches?

ignition switches?
i just recieved the ignition switch i bought from ezer but the connector on the back is different, is there a way to make it work or do i need to find a switch from the same year truck? ezer's switch has 4 prongs and a bolt in the middle and mine has five-6 prongs i cant remmber but it doesnt have the bolt.

you have the wrong year switch. his was a 67. i wil trade you a switch that will work. just mail it to me and i will mail you one that will work. please remove the key cylinder and key so it will still match your door locks he sent you. pm me your address.

fordman, how do i go about removing the cylinder? and i would like to wait tell ezer recieves the money before any deals go down on a part that hasnt been paid for yet.

oon a 68-72 switch you hacve to turn the key to the ACC position. then insert a paper clip in that little hole and turn the switch further past the ACC position. i just did this last night with a switch. its easier if the switch is installed in the dash or my wife was holding it. (she said she would touch that thing again) ha ha

This is a side-by-side comparison of the three different ignition switch styles used in Ford pickups during the '67-'72 era. On the left is the '67-only switch, which utilized a single hot stud which protruded through the push-on connector, which in turn was held on with a small nut. In the middle is an example of a '68-'70 ignition switch, in which the harness connector was pushed onto bullet-style connections. The '71-'72 version on the right, introduced in mid-'70, utilized a similar style but used spade-type connectors.

thanks for the help i got the ignition cylinders switched, and i also learned something new about our trucks thanks for the picture kieth
