I am needing some help about identifying fuse types. What is the difference between these 20 Amp fuses: SFE-20, AGX-20, AGA-20...? Is there a rule behind? How about the outer dimensions?

Here is some good info for you on them. http://www.bussmann.com/6/GlassTubeFuses.html Mostly it has to do with the physical size of the fuse... If you click on the picture of the fuse on that link it will give you more info on them too.

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

That's the key you use to let the magic smoke out of the wires with.

I use a old fuse and copper 20 AWG wire wrapped around it.

You can use your own blown fuse and wrap tin foil or a cigarette wrapper around it and it will work but it defeats the reason for a fuse. If You're blowing fuses, I suggest finding out why you are blowing the fuses and fix it.
I had a 1975 Dodge Dart and It kept blowing heater blower fuses. I tried everything... until I moved the turn signal relay to a different spot...(I let it hang) and that was it! In that car, the turn signal fuse was the same as the heater blower motor. Problem solved.

they all do seem to be different sizes. maybe you need a better parts place to get your fuses from. the owners manual might say something about fuse type and size.
