tail light wiring harness??

Post by td »

ive got the bed off my truck doing some upgrades (fuel tank swap, c-notch,cleaning & painting) and have encountered a little problem that needs some attention. every since ive owned the truck ive new the turn signal lights didn't work as they should, when their on ,right or left both the rear signals blink together. well now i can see were the problem is, the wiring back there has been hacked on to the point were its not recognizable. so i disconnected the tail light wires just above the rear axle were there are some factory connectors.

here.

here's a pic of the hacked up part i removed.

 I guess that has been hacked up.

I don't know of any new harnesses that have been done but check out the "parts for sale" section, I know at least ezernut9mm and Fordman are scrapping out trucks and might have one that isn't all hacked up. :2cents:

i saw that exact wiring on ebay . it ended on saturday though. it was listed for 49.95 i think. it was NOS. no one bought it. i think i also seen a used one on ebay too. you can always rewire what you have using your exsisting plugs. or you might be able to get new plugs that will fit. i do also have that section here i got from another member. pm me if interested.

Dragon,

thanks! i had been looking at those and they will be a great deal of help in repairing the wires i have, i printed some of the diagrams off and made a small attempt to piece the wires back together last night, but haven't plug it all together to see if i did any good yet.

fordman,

if i can't do ant good with using the diagrams for repairing the old one i'll send you a PM, thanks for the offer!!

thank all of you for your replies!!!
