Re: new ignition
For the high performance motor that you are building I would use the MSD 6A box and either a Duraspark distributor or a MSD distributor. The MSD is a little more money but will give you better spark and performance then just the points eliminator systems…
I have run a Duraspark and MSD 6 on my 302 in my 68 stang and have never had any issues with it. Some worry about using the MSD box for fear of it dying somewhere that you can’t get parts quick, if your traveling but mine never leaves far from town. I used the stock connector off the ford control module so that if I had to I could just get a stock module and plug it in with a little wiring and go.
I also put a MSD 5 box on my dads 85 Bronco with a 351W wired the same way, been on it since about 92 and no problems with it. One thing I noticed on both is how much easier the motors start with the MSD.
Holley, Accel, and Mallory have similar systems…
Just my

Re: new ignition
It is plus the CD box can be integrated into Fuel injection systems. The rev limiter function is okay if you can get a limit setting close to your max rpm limit. Ignition rev limit is good as the motor is turned off if it hits the limit. This prevents over revving real fast. That is important to me as I build torque motors where the valve springs are not set for High RPM so they will allow the engine to float the valves early in the power band.
