Good Idea! I'll try that tonight and see what i get..... I guess the light from the gauges doesn't look as bright to the camera as it does to me... Hahahaha!!

Yep, Papabug, if you can get the Clusters out of a couple of them, you will probably end up with a great looking dash....maybe even two of them!

71longbed, that looks sharp, too! I thought about doing mine in white but in as much as I am going to re-paint the truck back to the original Boxwood Green, (same as the dash color), I won't have any white on the outside, (or inside except the headliner), I decided to remove the black accent paint and go with the chrome.

OKAY! I finally was able to get a couple of "Night Pictures" of the Cluster. You can readily see how "yellow" the light in the Tach is compared to the bright blue/white of the "leds." Not quite as good of pictures as I would like but the best of quite a few.

Those LEDs work OK with the dimmer for the dash lights?

Flatbedford:

Yes, as a matter of fact, Dimmer works Great! They are strange looking bulbs but they really do a job! Six Point bulbs are 50% brighter than the regular 4 point bulbs. Wish I could get a better picture of them at night, but, those two shots are the best out of a dozen or so.......Sorry ole' CHEAP camera I guess.

Motordog, I looked for the bulbs on ebay & all I could find was the $25 ones. OUCH! 25 bucks a bulb?

Do the non F-600 clusters take the "twist" in bulbs or the "push in" type??? :help:

Yep, those bulbs are the ones, SteveC. I don't know what the $25 each bulbs are Papabug, but the 6 point Blue/White leds are $8.00 each. Good thing about it is that there are only two bulbs in an F-600 Cluster, plus one in the Vacuum gauge. There is one in the new tach also, but that won't be ready for 3 to 4 weeks.....

I know this is an old topic and just talked about it a while back but now I have picks of what I'm speaking of:

http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x115 ... 1312248125
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x115 ... 1312248115

Now here is what I want to do. I want to use the casing for the chrome facing and glass with the facing and guts of an after market tach. How do I take this tach apart to do this? I removed the screws from the back but it stays together.

Unfortunately the chrome bezel folds/pinches over the housing holding it together... you would have to peel that back to get it to come apart or cut it apart (but that wont help for what you want to do)
