Re: Pics of Floor Shifters installed
I have a B&M truck mega shifter in my '69. I never laid my hands on a Z-gate so I don't know much about them. I love my mega shifter. I drag race my '69 and I manually shift it. You can really slam some gears with the mega shifter. I bought it off ebay for a steal!!!

Re: Pics of Floor Shifters installed
Don't have a pic, but I think that's what I put in mine a month ago. It's a good tight shifter. Only thing was getting used to pushing it far enough over to hit 2nd & 3rd. The spring is pretty strong. But the installation was a breeze. I did reverse 2nd & 3rd and put my shifter handle on backwards so that in 3rd the shifter is as far forward as possible to give my GRANDdaughter more leg room.

Here's a picture of my B&M Z Gate Shifter that I bought at O'Reilly's For $131 with my brothers employee discount I haven't got to try it yet because of no drive shaft but I like the way it looks.

That's the shifter I wanted before I bought the one I got. How do you like it?pat67shorty wrote:I have a B&M unimatic shifter.

I would like to get a console and shifter from a new F-150 . Does anybody know if this could be adapted to a c-6 tranny?

When I bought my B&M it came with a bag of hardware to fit different transmissions and I have a C6 in the 70 and it works fine but sometimes reverse is a litle tricky and does anyone know why that might be?KF100TK wrote:I would like to get a console and shifter from a new F-150 . Re: Pics of Floor Shifters installed
Works well enough. It fit my budget when i got it and was tall enough without needing a tall base. I had to take a die grinder and deepen the neutral detent though so I could pass NHRA tech inspection... Works great for a daily driver.FordTruck wrote: That's the shifter I wanted before I bought the one I got. How do you like it?
I'd rather have a quicksilver.

Re: Pics of Floor Shifters installed
Automatics with floor shifters in trucks look ghetto in my opinion. What is wrong with the auto column shift? I have no problems with mine.

Re: Pics of Floor Shifters installed
Ditto that... Never had any luck with an aftermarket cable shifter in a ford. Seem to work great with a turbo 350 for some odd reason, but I could never get the adjustment right with the B+M slap shifter in my '69 stang way back when it was on the road and don't get me started about the POS cables they used that tend to blow out of the sheath in the middle of the night 75 miles from home...
Note, put a peice of all thread and some electricaltape under the seat for when it happens. I used 21" of 1/4" extensions taped together and taped to the cable end to shift it to get home that night.
Even the Fox body kits sucked...
There's a lot better stuff out there.
