vent rubber

Post by danno »

Was wanting to know if you need to take the door window out just to put new vent rubbers in or can you drill out the rivet and take the nut off the botton of the vent window and get the rubber in that way.I put new seals and all in the door windows about a year ago and not wanting to take all that apart and crack the paint all up, Thanks Danno :help:

There's an old thread in this section that had some pretty good pics on changing the vent window rubbers, and I believe Fordman is right, you have to take them out of the doors to replace them...

The vent seals is what I what to change, but I don't want to take the drivers window out because I just had the the insides of door painted and I don't want to mess them all up,so I thought I could just drill out the rivet and unbolt the window vent and take it out that way or am I thinking wrong.

I hate to say it, Danno, but I think you're thinking wrong...There's a couple screws holding up the angle side of the vent gaskets that you can't get to w/o the vent window being all the way out..

:yt: there are screws on the backside of that bracket holding it onto the frame of the vent window.
