I've searched high and low on the forums. I've found the one that the guy had on ebay that attached to the lower part of the door and had the map and cup holder storage area. That is ideal. Yet he appears to no longer be selling on ebay. Does anyone know where I can find a universal speaker pod/enclosure to mount to either the lower part of the door or under the dash on the side 'kick panel area"? Instead of cutting and worrying about depth, I would prefer to just attach to the vehicle instead of removing pieces of it by cutting holes.
It seems as though all the google searches turn up vehicle specific kick panels. Has anyone found one that will fit? Something simple and small enough to mount to that flat space on the '72s just forward of the door under the dash is my target. Only looking to mount a 3.5 to 5 inch speaker in that location.

keep watching that guy on ebay. he posts them when he wants to. or just contact him and ask him to sell you a set. don't cut your kick panels or the doors. that will be the sorriest moment you ever wanted in your life. that helps promote rust in the kick panels and the door because it opens up the area to atract moisture.

WHew. I didn't think about the moisture and rust thing. Thanks!
Oh and no, I have never worked with fiberglass. Though I have thought about just making something out of wood and putting it under the seat. I would have to face the highs outward though, as they don't sound to good coming up thru the seat.
I sent the guy on ebay a message the same day I posted this thread. No response.

Thanks for the lead. I contacted him by message a few days ago and asked him to repost. I ordered a pair this morning. Hopefully they work out. I'll let you know.
