Bypass Voltage Regulator
Since the wiring harness swap I can't get my volt gauge to say its charging. It worked before I swapped harnesses so I was wondering if my voltage regulator isn't the right one so can I bypass it? The weird part is I haven't had a dead battery yet so any help?

Re: Bypass Voltage Regulator
no you cant bypass it you need it. when you started mixing and matching harness the wires dont always go to the same place or some arent even present. the harness you got was probably for a truck with lights instead of guages.

Re: Bypass Voltage Regulator
When I changed harnesses I used everything, all of the other trucks switches, and instrument cluster also my volt gauge is an aftermarket. But anyway I figured it out I pull the alternator off and had it tested and it came back no good so I guess I'll start with a new alt.
