This may sound goofy but when I went to reupholster my seat I found that it had a few broken springs, I ended up splicing the broken ends by overlapping them enough to bolt them together using small U-bolts that I got from Home Depot. It's been a year and they are still holding up.bjde0b wrote:I have some broken springs in my seat. I was planning on welding them when I recover the seat. Has any body done this before or does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: New seat upholstery
I got a new seat today but it will need to have new foam and cover. Has anybody used an egg crate or similar foam with good results? I don't want to buy the foam from LMC or DC simply because of cost. I will be buying a cover from one of them though. Does anybody have a recomendation of which company to use?
