Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
i was gonna fab one from some pipe, but that was gonna require me to box a portion of the frame, and i would have to relocate my shock location to do that. so im gonna buy me a prefabed piece later so i don't have to box it inneverdone wrote:awesome work td, looks really nice, cant wait to see that c-notch in...how thick of metal will you be using for the cnotch?

Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
if you use those...i hope you weld them in.., but they're nice....i would need super cnotch from suicidedoors.com or fab up my own...i'm bagging mine, but yea for your set up that would be nice
again your tank swap is nice but that would've been sweet to have a boxed frame and the tank but i guess that would require different tank or just more fabbing!! =)

i will weld them in no the same tank would work fine, its the shock location that would have to be changed to box the frame.

Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
true...so then if you get a taller c-notch you can build a bridge from notch to notch w/shock tabs and that would take care of relocating your shocks...weld the lower tabs to the rear

Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
finally got off my lazy tail and applied some more fatmat to the area where the old fuel tank used to live. you guys that have some experience with this stuff know its no fun to work with, thats why i had a hard time getting motivated to get it done. well its behind me now a short drive down the road proved it helped the flowmaster drone a lot, especially at cruising speed when it was at its worst.

Great to hear (or not hear...) about the removal of the flowmaster drone. I'm really looking forward to putting sound deadening in my cab. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the same stuff but I'm glad to hear that something can be done about it. I'm planning on putting stuff above the headliner and in the doors too. I want it nice and quiet for a daily driver.

Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
I've been reviewing all the info available as I plan to do this shortly. I don't see where you provided venting for the tank. Is that not necessary because the fuel cap is vented?
Thanks,
Patrick

Re: fuel tank swap.(pics)
Great project with lots of good photos. I am still trying to get the EFI straightened out on mine. Here is a link to my EFI tank that was sized to fit 49-50 Mercs, but had all the hardware for fuel injection...
