Ok, WAY off Topic, Need help with a dodge
Sorry guys but this is the best place to turn to for help that I know of. My 2000 Dodge Dakota has a charging problem. A month or so back I was on my way to work when my check gauges light came on. Looked and my my alt gauge was on Zero. After work when I went out it started with no problem and the light didn't come on everything seemed fine. Then a little less than a month ago I let someone take the truck on a little trip about 120 miles or so and half way there the light came on for him and he ended up parking it before the battery died on him. The next day he had it picked up and tested the alternator and it tested fine. and never gave any more problems until today. It did it once on the way to work so I popped the clutch killed it and when I started it back up everything was fine. After work the light came on again. Tried killing and restarting it but it would not work this time. Where should I check from here aside from the battery which also tested good? Thanks in advance guys, Ben

do a computer test of the computer system first. have the alt rechecked at the auto parts store. then get rid of it asap when you have it running again.

I think it's going to need a PCM

PCM is going. I believe the voltage regulator on those is in the PCM and not the alternater. My Dad had a Dodge do the same thing about 6 months ago.

I tried to reset it but that didn't work. I tried to look for one on the websites for the Autozone, advanced, and Oreillys but they come up MSD ignitions and such.

Yeah I checked all of the fuses under there and they are good. I will check the grounds if I have enough light when I get home I did a brief check for them but I will get more into that. I have taken of the connectors for the PCM a few times to no avail I am not sure which other ones to check. This thing has connectors with nothing in them from the factory. My airbags aren't even hooked up.
