Dual horns???

papabug71, the larger horns in the picture you have there look almost like the horns that were installed on the early Falcons, Comets and the 1964 & 1/2 Mustang. I know those horns were bigger in size than the later horns. I believe the earlier 60s Ford trucks had larger horns on them too.

I was wrong. I only have 2 sizes. The little one is what my truck has, and I got a couple of these big ones in the box of stuff I bought.

My truck ('67 Camper Special) has dual factory horns. One "Hi", one "Lo". I had to replace my "Hi" horn, and they sounded great when they worked. But now they've stopped working again.... I'm guessing it's a contact brush, but it's been too $#&*@ cold to mess with it right now.

Anyhow, there is a singular wire that runs from one to the other.

Mine is (was) the big one on the left. It was a super low note & it went BLAAAAA!!! Thats the best way I can describe the sound....

I found a horn that looks a lot like the one on the left from a slick, mid sixties, f100. I don't remember the exact year of the truck. I put it in my '68.

I have dual horns on mine. I simply ran a hot wire from horn 1 to horn 2 and adjusted the diaphrams until I had to tones that I was pleased with. You can see pictures on my website.

There is a little screw on each horn that puts pressure on the diaphragm... that will adjust the tone from a squawking goose to smooth... you just have to play around with that screw to get the right tone. It helps to have a helper so you don't have to make 100 trips back and forth.

haha! NO DOUBT!! WHen I was working on my horns and used a jumper wire to make them sound off, I about wet my pants it was so loud. I think my heart actually stopped beating for a second.

My truck came with two horns on it. I got it from my grandpa. They look factory. It sounded nice but not nice enough. I found a glorious box of old horns at a swap meet once and bought all i could hold. I think before i took the truck apart for restoring i had 5 low tone, 6hi tone. and four air horns running off of two separate compressors. It was about as loud as a train but did the sound did not carry for more than a mile or so.

My '75 came with one horn and I added another used one after I bought an Echlin horn relay.
Under warranty they replaced the horn relay a couple times but it was a pain to get a "free"
relay so bought one from NAPA and it's still in there working. :)

I moved the original out where others;) could hear it while I was at it...

here those large horns are they are slick horns. this is from a 64 f350. i have seen several since i took this picture a few weeks ago but htey are all the same as the rest of them everyone has posted. and this one too.
