ghost in turn indicator
I just noticed last night that my left dash turn indicator is coming on when i turn on the head lights. It still flashes like it should. It wasn't doing that until i put rock guard, blinker housing and bumper back on.
Thank maybe a bad ground

I think you answered it your self. Check the grounding.

Re: ghost in turn indicator
The cluster lights come on with the headlights. It is possible that the cluster lights might be shining into the turn indicator somehow. The ground is probably more logical. The park light may have lost ground and be backfeeding through the bulb? Not sure, but that happened on a 78 I used to have.

Re: ghost in turn indicator
Mine turned out to be a bad socket. The wire would wiggle in the back of the socket and make it not make good conection on the ground.

Josh do you know where you can get just that socket or pigtail without having to buy the whole housing I have looked at npd, lmc, macs and no luck.Joshpow wrote:Mine turned out to be a bad socket. The wire would wiggle in the back of the socket and make it not make good conection on the ground.

Re: ghost in turn indicator
you might maybe be able to get a replacement trailer light pig tail that might fit inside of the old socket. but i am unsure of it would work or not. or if it could be done.

Re: ghost in turn indicator
I never found a replacement for my 72. The only ones were in new housings. I was able to find a socket that I redneck engineered in mine. It ain't pretty and not weathertight either. All I can say is it burns. Mine had a wire broken off one socket and the other was corroded horrible, so I replaced them. I can't remember what sockets I used though.
