Check that your rear Brake light and Turn lights are working... Have someone check when you hit the brakes that both left and right lights come on, then check that left and right turn come on.
Also, does it matter which turn you light you have on that it stops blinking when you hit the brakes?

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

If the Brake lights come on and work fine when you don't have the turn signals on then there's probably an issue with the Turn Signal Switch itself...
The other thing you might check is that the Emergancy Flasher works, if they don't make sure the switch is off on them...

I went through this once. Here is what I remember, but it may be a little off...
I can't remember the exact details of what the switch looks like, but the concept is that there is a switch that will switch between sending 12v to the brake switch, and the flasher box. If I remember right, that signal then goes to another switch that determines if that signal is going to go to the left or right side of the car.

What the guy who owned the truck has done is put the brake light switch and flasher box in parallel. This allows the brake light switch to short around the flasher box when it is closed, just as though you had put a jumper around the flasher box.

I will find my notes and write a better reply when I remember how it works.

This might be helpful for a 67, there are others for different years:
