Anyway, the way to test the light wiring is to check the Voltage on the wires, if both connectors have voltage on them, then the light will not come on. This is how this circuit works(supposed too anyway): When the Alternator is not charging then there is (supposed to be a switch) in the Voltage Regulator that switches that 904 wire to ground and as the other wire on the light is getting power the light will come on. But when the Alternator is charging then this 904 wire actually has 12V on it so the light will have 12V on both sides, so the light will not light up... Beings your Alternator is charging then, I believe your Purple and Green/red striped wire will have power and are working but maybe the Black/Green Striped wire is not getting power now…
You can also check any light bulb with an Ohm meter… Just hook to both wires (or on light bulb, the center node and outside of socket/thread area) and if it has some resistance it is good, but if it is open then it is no good.
