Does anyone know what this thing is? It was given to me by a friend and he thought it may be something used for old carburetor floats. He says it came out of an old speed shop somewhere and some guy had been just pitching all kinds of cool old 'stuff' into the garbage. I wonder what other treasures were thrown out!
I've searched the internet and can come up with nothing. It's engraved with the name "MO-GIL-NER SYNCHRONIZER" and also says LA, Cal. on the top. Any ideas?

I don't know. I guess it'll be cool to find out. Just to throw a guess, I'd say it might have to do with syncronizing multiple carbs. Just guessing from the name on it.
Maybe for synchronizing the old spark box on a model "T"

Mogilmer seems to have something to do with electrical timing. It runs from new patents on gas phase to dc conversion timing of spark, to just spark timing. Allot of the applications are way over my head dealing with timing of electrical charges in the human body.
So while I dont think this thing has anything to do with the human body, It appears to have something to do with electrical timing. That may be why there are feeler gauges and a degree scale on it.

Probably fordman but I'm not really interested in selling it as it was a gift from a friend although I wouldn't mind knowing its value if any. I like old automotive tools, parts, collectibles, etc. and would like to find more info on this thing.
