that fuse behind the instrument panel in a 72
last week i did a little wiring checks/work behind the instrument panel. I noticed an in line fuse that was popped it must be factory because it comes right out of the wiring harness its one of them little glass ones in a two piece twist together type things any help would be great
if its fixed break it again red white and ford blue the only up hill thats good is the one you are going down

it wouldn't be the stereo would it, better yet http://www.fordification.com/wiring.htm and scroll down to your 69 wiring section and see if the diagrams help figure out what you have,

is your truck a camper special or a ranger or custom ? what is it. i haven't even seen a factory fuse in a 72 like that. but i have only seen one 72 wiring set up.

it is a 72 ranger xlt half ton one of them loaded ones w/t fullgauges an all that jazz but when i replaced the fuse i never noticed any thing different

it was red and it went into the fender thru the cab it came from a three wire harness it is factory i can tell by the tape and dust
if its fixed break it again red white and ford blue the only up hill thats good is the one you are going down

that could be the famous red wire for the alt guage.

may be but it works it moves when you rev the motor. i ll trace it to morrow but every thing works in the truck from the blinkers to the light in the cargo lamp switch idunno ill post about it tomorrow
