I need some door panel schooling!
I know one of you can help me, I bought a set of explorer door panels for my 69 and hardly any of the holes match up. My truck originaly had steel panels on it is there a steel inner panel that i need or do i need to drill out the holes? I'm lost.
This is what I have. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

The later full-sized cardboard-backed door panels won't fit earlier trucks without drilling new mounting holes, since those panels weren't even around with your '69 was built.
I've never actually tried doing what you're doing, so I can't say for sure how many holes might line up correctly. You'd think the factory would make the new door panels with the attachment clips lining up with the existing holes so that a new inner door panel wouldn't be required, but I gave up on second-guessing them a long time ago.![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

That looks like the door panels from a 71. I have the same ones in green in my Explorer. My panels are in excellent shape, except that the chrome mylar film on the chrome trim strip is peeling off. Have to find some way to get them resurfaced, as those panels seem to be hard to find in nice shape, much less in green.

Ok Thanks Keith I was kind of thinking that, I may can use the door on my 72 parts truck as a template, I didn't think of that.

Re: I need some door panel schooling!
i thought the holes where the same for the full sized panels like that and the metal panels. i'll have to check that out. i have some 72 doors and some steel panels. i'll see if they will bolt on or not.
