A little steering wheel help

Post by papabug71 »

Im planning on getting a new wheel for my truck, most likely through DC, but im stuck on which one.

I like the look of the 70 & down wheels alot. They look more "vintage" than the 71 & up wheels do. :2cents:

The 71 & up wheels look like something that should be in a scooby van rather than in a truck.

If I get a wheel from a 70 & down truck, will it work on my 71 steering colum?? Or do I need a 70 & down colum as well. I think DC has the chrome horn rings as well, That would look good on a black wheel. I love black & chrome.

What do you guys think?? Im not worried about it being correct, just want it to look good!!

to use the htree spoked wheel on a 71-72 column you must grind off the top part of the shaft. its just a small nub to gring off. otherwise the chrome horn ring won't fit on there because the column will be too long.
