Fuel guage ohms question

I know Keith had this info a few years back but when did Ford change the fuel gauge sending unit resistance? It seems like I remember there was early and late?

I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.
