67 doors with no arm rest

Post by fireguywtc »

It seems to be a little known fact or a rare unfortunate option that some 67's came with no arm rest at all. I happen to be so lucky to have purchase such a pickup, but I am curious now as to how many others share my good fortune. Here is a pic of my door panels that have been untouched since I bought the truck 11 years ago. The speaker holes are from the P/O. and the driver side panel is on the left. I should have taken a pic of how I and p/o's have worn the paint off the driver side window frame.

Have you deciphered your VIN? When was your '67 built?
I have some '67 inner panels with holes for arm rests and with out holes for speakers if you are interested.

ok, I finally deciphered my VIN and my pickup was made in Feb. of 67. Sort of right in the middle of all the manufacturing. Don't know if it would have an effect on my options or not. I'm just guessing but since mine was a base model F-250, they must have been available with no arm rest.

My dad's '67 f100 was as plane jane as you could get. It didn't have holes for armrest, had the radio delete option, he said he thought it didn't even have the antenna hole. There was no chrome trim, everything was painted white and it had a huge heavyduty bumper on the back.

Good point acestroker!

Mine sounds very similar despite it being and F-250. I don't think it came with a radio thought it had one installed when I bought it. When I got it the p/o had put an aftermarket antenna on the drivers side of the truck and the holes drilled where not good looking. I also have a big heavy duty bumper on the back.

I just figure it was probably just a fleet truck, meaning it had minimal options, and was bare bones as they come. It came with a 240 and a 3 on the tree. My grandpa bought it from a rubber company at an auction, and it was a real nice truck except the inside of the bed was hammered from hauling scrap chunks of rubber I guess.
