By adding a gunrack you will only have another target from the left wingers who want to jack up the price of the ammo. Oh wait a minute...., these are only a few of the reasons I love driving my 41 year old truck. I want a bumper sticker for my truck that says: My truck burns twice as much fuel as your HYBRID saves!.
The ones I have alwaus had are brown rubber covered metal that screws in to the cab. It has been a couple of trucks since I have had one, because when I go out now, 2 or 3 just doesn't cut it. If you find a good source, post it here and maybe you will start a movement!

theres a sticker here in Laramie on the back window of a bronco that says "go ahead and buy your hybrid..i need your gas". I love driving around in my strait piped, 67 highboy covered in mud with the .30-06 in the window.

Re: Gun Rack
Yeah, I haven't seen a gun rack in use in California for about 10 years, and even then it was rare. I think if a younger cop saw a long gun in your rear window around here you probably would get pulled over and at least questioned. I know someone not to far from where I live that was unloading gun CASES from his car after a trip to the range and a cop passing by recognized they were gun cases and stopped him at gun point. He spent 30 minutes sitting handcuffed on the sidewalk while the officer ran the numbers and asked him a bunch of questions. On the flip side, when someone tried to break into my house the cops had no problem talking to me on the front porch while I was holding a rifle. The conversation ended with an encouraging "you stay inside with your rifle, we'll look for him out here". Anyway, the point to my rambling post is that you never know what you'll encounter in California.thebannister8 wrote:a gun rack for cosmetic reasons...we think alike....i'd be surrounded in this state ( calif ) in a minute if i ever used my rack.....ooooohhhhhh i miss vermont....![]()
Oh... scratch that, I did see a gun rack in the side camper shell window of a truck at the range recently, but the windows were blacked out so you couldn't really see the rack until he opened the camper.

Not true. I"ve rolled through the city with a shotgun and 30.06 in the back window many times without ever having an incident.thebannister8 wrote:a gun rack for cosmetic reasons...we think alike....i'd be surrounded in this state ( calif ) in a minute if i ever used my rack.....ooooohhhhhh i miss vermont....![]()

Re: Gun Rack
The problem with that is that when crooks see your truck with an NRA sticker and gun rack parked outside of your house, they know who's house to break into (when your not home) to steal guns.krumpelsaurusrex wrote: ... Were crazy enough to drive these old trucks, and people would think twice about cutting me off in mine. Just imagine what they would think if I had a gun rack in the back window! Follow that up with my NRA sticker in the window... It would be great!
