Probably around 9, 9.5 I imagine. It is a resistor wire
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

If I remember correct it's actually a little bit lower then that, between 4.5 and 6.6 volts is good. I would ground the negative side of the coil, then turn on the key to get an accurate reading.

Most Ive came across were between 6-9volts, that is with a good resistor/wire or resistor in place.fordman wrote:how much coil power should i get at the coil in wire when i turn the key on?

Re: coil power how much
i checked it. and the wire was hot. i must have had a bad ground when i checked it the first time. i ddin't read the volts on it. the neddle moved and i knew i had power. it must be a bad coil or a ground or a bad condensor. i didn't have spark at the points either.
