What I've been told is that the '73-'77 radios will not fit, but the '78-'79 radios will fit fine. Of course, we're talking just AM/FM here, not the cassette or 8-track varieties. Those won't fit regardless of year. This is just what I've been told, I haven't tried it out for myself yet.

A real nice one on ebay right now but at 125 bucks, its pricey. I'll just look the salvage yards over when I get a chance.

i got a radio from the wrecking yard ,its a 73 on , the guy took our faceplate and just cut it out a bit , it looks good and its am/fm , i want to install but it will be a while

I was thinking the same thing. A guy could use a die grinder with a fine stone grinder on it, take his/her time & really make it look good. Finish it off with some fine sand paper & you wouldnt even know it was tampered with.
I might give it a try.....
