Ranger Lithographed Wood Grain
Any thoughts as to the best method of cleaning the fourty years of grime off of the lithographed wood grain on the lower dash panel for a 69 Ranger?
I can polish the aluminum section but do not want to harm the printed wood grain.

Re: Ranger Lithographed Wood Grain
Derek, I thought about some citrus or simple green type of cleaner but those can be caustic to aluminum. I snagged all the goodies from 69 ranger for my Crew and cleaning off the 40 years of Arizona dirt is a challenge.
I have been here a long time just don't post as much.

Hey Garbz
Just don't use "Klean Strip"... unless you want nice clean polished aluminum pieces...
Having that paint on there for 40 years really protects the aluminum really well... they shine up real purdy afta ya get that nasty ole paint off...

I used windex on the pieces I just accuired. Worked like a champ & didnt even phase the woodgrain part.
Just use something mild on it. Windex today is really watered down from what it was 20 years ago.

Strip it, polish it and replace the woodgrain.
Then it looks brand new.
Look to "woodgrain for wagons". Put that in google and see what you come up with.
