dent radio fitment?

Honest to god, I looked all over the site/forums but coulndt find a deff. answer.

Will a AM/FM out of a dent fit in a bump???? :hmm:

i think they will except the face plate wont go over the center of the radio. but it will set on top of the radio face.

What I've been told is that the '73-'77 radios will not fit, but the '78-'79 radios will fit fine. Of course, we're talking just AM/FM here, not the cassette or 8-track varieties. Those won't fit regardless of year. This is just what I've been told, I haven't tried it out for myself yet.

A real nice one on ebay right now but at 125 bucks, its pricey. I'll just look the salvage yards over when I get a chance.

i got a radio from the wrecking yard ,its a 73 on , the guy took our faceplate and just cut it out a bit , it looks good and its am/fm , i want to install but it will be a while :fr:

I was thinking the same thing. A guy could use a die grinder with a fine stone grinder on it, take his/her time & really make it look good. Finish it off with some fine sand paper & you wouldnt even know it was tampered with.

I might give it a try..... :evil:
