Post by OldNo7 »

I have a 67 250 and am rewiring it on the original harness, what color are the wires for the back up light and the brake lights?
Also, anyone who has put onr of these EZ wiring looms in, I don't see any wires in the harness for back up or brake lights (only third brake light) any help grately appreciated.

On my Ez harness the brake light is on the relay with the Hazard lights. There is a wire for the backup lights I think it is pink just like the ignition wire. When I get home i will check and see for sure on the color of the Backup light and post it. On my original wiring harness the brake wires are Red/ black stripe.

Thanks, if you could look it would help.
Also, on the headlights, high and low beams, did you put butt connectors and keep original clips and the which color wires were the original to the new?
Grateful for the help!

I believe the back up light wire is black with a red stripe.

OK, Here we go.

I used the original connectors on the Head lights just spliced into them. I did that on all switches as well so I would have some of the original wire color so it will make for easy troubleshooting if anything ever happens.

Low Beam EZ Harness Brown Original Harness Red/black stripe
High beam EZ Harness Green Original Harness green/Black stripe
Back-up EZ Harness Orange Original Harness Black/Red Stripe

Hope this Helps.

maybe they should rename tha company name to pain in the because the wire colros dont match up. why not go down to the hardware store and just buy new wiring for your truck. if they are going to do that stupid stuff. ignore me i am just complaining about the thoughts of these wiring companies.

No, Fordman you are correct. Thanks again guys for the help. I WOULD NOT recommend this EZ harness myself. The old saying you get what you pay for holds here. If I had to try it again I would have gone for the Painless made for this truck and still who knows how painless it would be......

Roadrunner, the orange in the EZ is for the 3rd brake light, since there are no brake light brake wires other than orange I spiced into orange for brake lights, you used for backup lights also??????

My bag you are right the orange goes to the third brake light. I have a green wire going to my backup lights I went and rechecked it. Sorry for the mix up on the wires.
