clutch/brake pedal arm bushings

Post by M-100 »

Has anyone replaced the original pedal bushings with roller bushings.I have seen a kit for it but forgot where . They say the rollers last longer and work better. It could also repair a very badly worn pedal assembly.

The bearings have a sleeve that is welded to the pedal assembly then the bearing fits in the sleeve. I would not recommend welding a bearing on to the assemble
itself.

truefully i have never done this. i have only heard of this procedure and was passing along only what others have said. myself i would just get a different assembly. i think welding bearings to the bracket is bad. if you need to change the bearing you would have to grind or cut them off. when yo uget this new kit. post pics o fhte kit and how it is suppose to go on to the bracket. no one has ever actually reported correctly on this matter. you could be the first to be famous for a complete write up on this subject.

I'll be doing this in the next week or so, I already bought the kit from mustang steve.
wickedinhere is correct - you weld a sleeve to the pedal assembly that the bearing drops into.

This image from Robroy shows the sleeve welded on that the bearing drops into.
