I turn on my headlights and my truck shuts off!
ok i converted my 67 f100 to an internal regulated alternator. I did what it says to do on the alternator, run the "S" wire to the alternator itself. Then i ran a 6 gauge wire to the starter solenoid. The "I" wire I ran to the starter solenoid too and the truck would charge fine. So i checked my turn signals and they get stuck so i went to check the headlights and when i pull the switch all the way the truck turns off. Just like if I turned the key to off. It does it every time i try it. So i thought maybe i need to switch the "I" wire to the ignition switch. I saw that the wiring diagram shows the black wire at the switch to meet with the green and red wire under the hood. So, i connected it to the green wire, its charging but the headlights are turning off my truck im soooo lost on this problem PLEASE HELP!!!

sounds like you have the headlight wire hooked to something it shouldn't be...
Here is a diagram that shows where the wires go for the 3G alternator upgrade. http://www.fordification.com/galleries/ ... nstall.jpg
(A) goes to the starter solenoid, battery (+) side.
(I) goes to the exciter wire that went to the old voltage regulator. This should be a Green/red striped wire.
(S) back to the alternators Black/white striped wire.

The harness on the right fender that has the Alternator exciter wire on it, also has the wires for the right front lights (turn, and park).
You may have to post some pictures of what you did with the wire harness, that may help us...
It is also possible that the turn signal flasher just died as a coincidence.
