I've got a '68 F-250 in need of a seat cover. However I am having my doubts as to the seat in the truck being the original. I've done my best to search but I am unable to come up with any detailed pictures of a 1968 Ford F-250 seat.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
What years and models would have the right seat from the factory?
Were the seat frames stamped anywhere?
I'll try and get some pictures up here of the seat and maybe someone can help my ID it.

Hey Piemat ..
I see that your are new here... welcome aboard... You need to introduce yourself and yer truck to the rest of the guys...
You can do that here at the welcome mat

Here is a link to the seat info that's been gathered here at FORDification...

All 67-72 seats would be appropriate, however there is probably a part number on the seat frame somewhere.
I don't know if there is a specific '68 "Ranger" seat...
"Ranger" is simply a trim package that was available on all models...
For instance, I have a '68 F250 Camper Special with a Custom Cab trim package.
The original owner special ordered some options that didn't come on the standard "base" model.
He could have ordered the same truck, with the "Ranger" trim package, but didn't.
Just ta let ya know,
'68's ROCK !!!

Re: '68 F-250 Ranger Seat
one of the seat i have in my 67 has a metal tag on the seat back springs that gives the part number of something like C7TB or something like that. look for that metal tag attached to the seat back springs. or on the bottom seat springs. i think my 69 i parted out had both metal tags on the back and the bottom. but a pic wuld be the other way to tell if it was original or not.

Re: '68 F-250 Ranger Seat
Thanks.
Right now, I'm trying to ID the seat, so I don't order the wrong covers. What I'm needing to know is what the factory 67-72 seats look like.Truth be told, I haven't even seen the seat yet - I am recovering it for a friend. I'm waiting on him to send me the pictures. I will post them here, ASAP.
I hope the seat hasn't been replaced with something unidentifiable. With the age of these trucks, anything is possible, so I'm hoping for the best.
I've seen the same metal tags in a '67 mustang I worked on.

looks like a custom cab seat. its not a standard can seat. those are more plain jane than what you have.

Thanks fordman, will it be an issue to find a cover for it? If not, do you know a source?

Re: '68 F-250 Ranger Seat
I own a '68 f-250 ranger camper special with an original seat and it is the same one as the one in the first picture above. The metal tags on it are from a '68 ranger.
Working is fine, but it's no way to make a living
